How to play Hop Road 3D
Help a blocky chicken hop as far as it can across endless grass, roads, railways and rivers. Press the arrow keys or WASD to hop one square in that direction. On a phone, swipe in any direction, tap to hop forwards, or use the on-screen d-pad. Your score is the furthest row you reach.
Cars, trucks and trains squash you, and a flashing red lamp beside a railway warns that a train is coming. Water is deadly, so cross rivers on floating logs and don't let one carry you off the side. Trees block your way. The view keeps creeping forwards, and an eagle grabs you if you fall too far behind or go seven seconds without a forward hop.
Tips
- ▸Only forward hops reset the eagle's seven-second timer. Hopping sideways or back can dodge traffic, but it won't stop the eagle.
- ▸When the lamp by a railway starts flashing, a train is less than two seconds away. Wait before the tracks until it has passed.
- ▸You can press the next direction mid-hop; it is saved and happens as soon as you land.
- ▸The view moves a little faster as your score grows, so you have less time to wait at each road later in a run.
Hop Road 3D FAQ
- Why did the eagle catch my chicken?
- Either you went seven seconds without hopping forwards, or the advancing view left you more than about three rows behind. Keep moving forwards, even one row at a time.
- Can the chicken swim?
- No. Landing in the water, or riding a log off the side of the play area, ends the run.
- Is Hop Road 3D hard to control on a phone?
- No. Swipe up, down, left or right to hop, or simply tap to hop forwards.
