How to play Sky Hopper
Your green hopper bounces automatically every time it lands on a platform. All you do is steer left and right so it comes down on the next platform up. Use the arrow keys or A and D, or hold the left or right half of a touch screen. Going off one side of the screen brings you back on the other.
Your score is the height you reach, in metres. Green platforms are solid, blue ones slide sideways, and brown cracked ones break after one bounce. A red spring launches you much higher. The higher you climb, the wider the gaps and the more moving and cracked platforms appear. Fall off the bottom of the screen and the run is over.
Tips
- βΈYou pass up through platforms from below and only land on them while falling, so platforms overhead are never in the way.
- βΈUse the screen wrap. If the next platform is near the far edge, going off the near side is often quicker.
- βΈA cracked platform gives one bounce and then falls away. Two cracked platforms never come in a row, so look for the next step straight away.
- βΈThe hopper keeps sliding for a moment after you let go, so release a little before you are over the platform.
Sky Hopper FAQ
- Do I need to press jump?
- No. The hopper jumps by itself every time it lands. You only steer.
- How is the score measured?
- It is the highest point you reach, in metres. Falling back down does not lower it.
- Does Sky Hopper get harder as you climb?
- Yes. The gaps grow, moving platforms appear more often and move faster, and cracked platforms become more common. The sky also darkens into a starry night.
