How to play Ludo

Everyone has four tokens in their base. Roll a six to bring one out, then race clockwise round the board and up your coloured home column; reaching the centre needs an exact roll. Land on a rival's token to send it back to base, except on the safe squares. The first player to get all four tokens home wins.

A six earns another roll, but three sixes in a row forfeits the turn. Play against one, two or three computer opponents, pass one device between two to four players, or share a room code with a friend to play online. Tap the dice to roll, then tap a glowing token to move it.

Tips

  • ▸Get a second token out early. With two on the board, you can choose which one a roll moves and keep away from danger.
  • ▸A rival token one to six squares behind you can capture you on its next roll. Stop on a star or a start square when you can.
  • ▸Chase captures of tokens that are far along the track; sending one back costs your opponent far more than it costs you.
